Major Recruitment are working in partnership with a prestigious aerospace manufacturer based in the Hyde area of Manchester, the ideal candidate will have the following skills & experience

Reporting to: Programme Manager

Summary of Role:

The purpose of the Programme Lead (PL) is twofold, in addition to the responsibilities detailed below the PL will take overall responsibility for all coordinating assigned business programmes. Coordination of such programmes includes development of people, systems and processes, to improve the overall performance of the scheduling function within the business.

Working closely and delegating to the Associate Programme Lead to ensure that customer satisfaction and project completion are the objectives met through the various manufacturing work centres in the most efficient sequence.

The PL will work with the Associate Programme Lead, Schedulers and Production to react and reschedule programmes in a timely and efficient manner, as and when unforeseen activity cause disruption to the plan, by considering the wider objectives, whilst still maintaining the optimum service level to the customer at lowest delivered cost.

Principal responsibilities

• Project Manage and strategically develop customer improvement plans.
• Serve as a customer escalation point to resolve high impact issues.
• Report on performance to plan of on time delivery for programmes, highlighting areas for concern and identify the strategy to resolve all issues.
• Customer communication focus for high priorities : including visits to customers and facilitating customer visits to Company Sites.
• Interface to customer (delivery & quality) and timely resolution.
• Ensure goal alignment between Customers and Program scorecard metrics and reports.
• Interface with multi-functional teams to support better supply-demand planning.
• Forecasting: Set, control, and manage programmes.
• Report on Customer Experience
• Support & liaise with the Production Planner regarding customer schedules, ensuring that any proposed changes to delivery dates from customers are reviewed to confirm ability to execute and deliver on time.
• Co-ordinate and manage DSUMs for customer Programmes when required.
• Coordinate within the Programme Management team the daily/weekly shipments planning schedule to prioritise and balance shipments in an effective and timely manner to meet on time delivery.
• Manage the Customer Returns process
• Feedback to other departments where improvements in processes need to be made.
• Support the contract review process as and when required

Post holders are expected to work flexibly within the role. It is expected for the post holder to carry out activities for which they are competent. Additionally, the post holder will also carry out additional duties upon request from Senior Management



Person Specification

Qualifications:

Essential
Relevant Degree / Professional qualification.
Demonstrable continuous professional development.

Desirable
Any formal management,
Supervisor / team leader training, qualifications or certificates.

Experience

Essential
Previous working knowledge of project coordinating/managing.
Demonstrable continuous professional development.

Desirable
Demonstrable experience
within an aerospace and/or engineering manufacturer(s).

Skills & Aptitude

Essential
Computer literate and able to use Microsoft Office Applications.
Managerial/Supervisory skills in accordance to the principal responsibilities listed within the job description.

Desirable
A working understanding and/or knowledge of Epicor system.

Characteristics
Has a flexible attitude towards the role.

Ability to work as part of the team whilst using their own initiative to make autonomous decisions to ensure project deadline compliance.

Ability to organise own work load in addition to managing Associate Programme Leaders priorities.

The ability to maintain attention to detail by providing high levels of accuracy.

Highly motivated, driven and disciplined with a “can do” attitude.

Ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines
